Dance Arama History
Dance Arama is not just a regular dance, it was orchestrated by Patrick. B (Heartbeat Ent.) for a reason; it is a place to display talent.
Patrick. B... a dancer himself straight out of Tivoli Gardens, Kingston. JA. well known for his unconventional dancing skills and choreography, he was a member of gold medalist group
"Funky Phonics". The esemble tour the fourteen parishes, in 1988 they came third place on the
"APOLLO SHOWTIME" T.V program... "birthplace" of the concept of Dance Arama .
Patrick. B much like the dancers of today, views himself as an entertainer. One factor seperates veterans like Patrick B. and the Funky Phonics crew from the dancers of today and that is perception....back in the day, dancers were perceived as extras/back up....today, they are full-fledged entertainers....making names for themselves and creating a
"stir" in the entertainment arena.
All thanks to Mr. Bogle Wacky (R.I.P) who set the trend for dancers.
From Bogle to World-a-dance to Frog Back and Badman Forward dancing has come a long way and will not Stop.
